SD Library Challenge 6--Ebsco Ebooks

1.  I did a search on Alzheimer's Disease and used "find any of my search terms" and got 50 results.  Some of the titles may not be related to my search.  I did a 'boolean phrase' search and got 49 results.  Again for some of the last results, Alzheimers wasn't in the titles.  I also did an advanced search with Alzheimers as "subj" (top line) AND disease NOT deaths.  I got 11 results.  Some searches brought up totally unrelated results again.

2.  Constitution Day--I clicked on Visual Search and started typing Constitution.  As I did, suggested phrases popped up with the word Constitution.  I chose "Constitution and the United States".  The results showed on the left side .  I chose Constitutional History which listed 3 results.  I then chose The Constitution of the United States, I clicked on the 'more' icon and I got a page that said "The Constitution of the United States of America" with an ebook full text.  One good title would be "The Constitution of the United States of America, 1787."  Another good title would be "Right to Religious Liberty: the Basic Guide to Religious Rights".

3.  I put Nebraska as Publisher and Oklahoma (with 'subj') OR Nebraska (with 'subj') and got 50 results.  This search can be a little frustrating but I see by using Publisher, all the titles are from a certain Nebraska publisher.   I was a litte disappointed since I didn't see anything on Picasso or Guernica.

  1. Hi, tee, the State Library purchased the titles in this resource as a way to expand adult non-fiction for public libraries. Nebraska as publisher should yield results published by the U of Nebraska, which includes info about our region. I did a basic search with terms "picasso guernica" and got 1 result: Surrealist Painters and Poets. Thanks for your comments, tee!
